The slogan is simple: Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.
If you’ve walked by a GAP store lately, you’ve probably seen the larger-than-life pictures of powerful girls, sporting inspiring Tees, in the windows. These photos are part of a larger collaboration between TV-star Ellen Degeneres and GAP: an empowering clothing line called GapKids x ED that aims to encourage girls everywhere to be proud of who they are.
The clothing line spans all kinds of apparel: fashionable sweatpants, cozy jackets, and sassy printed sweatshirts. (Needless to say, I’m envious that I no longer fit into a Kids 14.) The campaign surrounding the clothing line features six young girls (Alexey, Relz, Ryann, Bellatreas, Torrae and Asia) who each excel at what interests them most: whether it be robotics, skateboarding or entrepreneurship. Ellen has interviewed them all in a series of heartwarming short videos, providing opportunities for GAP consumers to get to know the faces behind the brand and be inspired by their stories.
As Ellen says, “we focus so much on our differences and that is creating a lot of chaos and negativity and bullying in the world. and I think if we focus on what we all have in common, which is that we all just want to be happy, that would be a lot better.”
Watch the videos, be empowered, and then support the girls in your life by shopping GapKids x ED. And don’t forget: when you shop through Goodshop, an additional percentage will be donated to the charity of your choice!
